Adopted village programme Capacity building programme on Farm mechanization on 17-07-2021

A capacity building programme has been conducted ‘Farm mechanization’ under ICAR SC subplan at Gudur, adopted village of College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, PJTSAU on 17/07/2021. A training programme on “Farm mechanization” was organised by the College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar of Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University at adopted village, Gudur on 17th July 2021 to create an awareness among farming community about various farm implements. Dr B Rajeswari, Professor (Pathology) and the chairman, village adoption committee has inaugurated the programme by giving brief insights about the importance of the programme Dr C Narendar Reddy, Associate Dean, College of Agriculture Rajendranagar was the chief guest of the programme addressed the farmers about the need of machinery in the present-day agriculture as labour availability is very scarce and if available the huge rates of labour can’t be met by a small or medium farmer. In such situations, there is a high need to depend on machinery to get all the agricultural operations done timely and promptly. Sri Sattaiah, Sarpanch, Gudur grama panchayat has explained about the situation of labour scarcity during peak periods in the village and asked all his fellow farmers to shift towards mechanization. Dr. P. Rajaiah, Principal Scientist, FIM scheme was the resource person for the training programme; has explained about all the machinery available in rice, cotton, maize and cotton that can be used from field preparation to harvesting. Ferti cum seed drill, drum seeder & cono weeder in rice, Intercultivation, Harvesting & Threshing machines in maize and especially emphasis has been laid on cotton shredder to avoid burning of cotton stalks and reduce the spread of infestation of pink boll worm. Farmers have been provided with all the working details and costs for all the machinery. Sri Gopal, Mandal Agricultural Officer has addressed the farmers about various agricultural schemes & subsidies provided by the Department of agriculture. The team of village adoption committee and farmers from the adopted village were present during the programme . The programme was concluded with the formal vote of thanks proposed by Dr B Rajeswari, Chairman Village adoption committee.
